Miguel Machuqueiro, Principal investigator of the Computational Biophysics Lab, was distinguished with Ciências ULisboa merit award in Chemical Sciences and Technologies. The announcement took place last October 24, at the meeting, on which faculty’s research and development is showcased and celebrated: the Ciências Research & Innovation Day.

We talked to Miguel Machuqueiro, who is delighted with the distinction,  since this award is a recognition of his work: “This is an amazing award for which I’m deeply honored. It is the recognition of an incredible year of 2022 for my group and my collaborators, who contributed significantly to this event.“.  Futhermore, the scientist feels that the award “tastes” even better as it is given by his own institution: “This recognition was particularly meaningful due to the objective nature of the award. It was also special since it was attributed by Ciẽncias ULisboa, our home institution, and, by the way, who does not like to be recognized by their peers/colleagues?“.
