FCT SUMMER WITH SCIENCE 2022 PROGRAMME
One of BioISI’s major missions is to offer high-quality postgraduate and advanced training. Therefore, the FCT Summer with Science Programme is an excellent opportunity to showcase BioISI’s training and research capabilities. The students will interact with senior PI’s, PhD students, MSc students and junior trainees, in a truly multiand interdisciplinary environment while being exposed and contributing to state-of-the art research. BioISI Summer with Science Programme aims at giving students an opportunity to have contact with different research by means of an interdisciplinary experience in research activity.
Candidates can choose one of the projects available with a computational approach (representing four of the five BioISI’s thematic
lines, namely, Biomedicine, Computational Biology, Biophysics and Biotechnology) or enroll in experimental research topics included in the Biomedicine thematic line, which focus on mechanisms of disease, personalized medicine and new therapies. To work on each one of the projects, the chosen candidates will be granted a one-month fellowship for research initiation (BII).

Application
The call is open between 13 and 20 July 2022.
Applications should be sent via e-mail to BioISIDirector@fc.ul.pt, by attaching the following documents:
a. Curriculum vitae;
b. Certificate of completion of previous degree;
c. Cover letter indicating the projects of interest, in descending order of preference.
Candidates should currently attend a 1st (bSc.) or 2nd (MSc.) cycle course in Basic Sciences (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Informatics) or related fields.
