Margarida Amaral, Functional Genomics & Proteostasis (FunGP) group leader, was distinguished with Ciências ULisboa merit award in Chemical Sciences and Technologies. The announcement took place last October 26, at the meeting, on which faculty’s research and development is shared and celebrated: the Ciências Research Day.

We talked with the researcher, who promptly showed her full support to these types of activities, on which the scientific research developed at the faculty is showcased and divulged: “I think that this event is very relevant, not just for the Ciencias community but also outside the Ciencias space“, states Margarida. Personally, the scientist feels that the recognition is relevant, not only for her scientific career, but also because: “(…) this public recognition is very important because it is a sign that at Ciências merit matters.” Additionally, the researcher hopes that these distinctions may contribute to increase incentives for R&D at Ciências ULisboa.
